I first became self-employed after the company I was working for went into liquidation.

From there I went to another salon as self-employed but it wasn’t what I was expecting at all!

So I decided to take the leap and open my own space where I could be my own boss and all the money I earned went straight to me.

Opening a new business after the Covid19 lockdown was very scary as I didn’t have a guaranteed client base.

However, I needn't have worried as since opening on the 4th July I have been overwhelmed with how much the business has taken off and how busy I am.

Having a good booking system like Pocket PA has been my absolute safety net. Even though I’m working from home I still feel very professional and all my clients have commented on it so I feel very proud!

It has to be about taking the leap to leave the salon and work on my own!

My family have been so helpful and my clients have all followed me and been amazing by supporting me 

If I didn’t have Pocket PA I wouldn’t be able to keep on top of all my clients e.g. sending email reminder and taking payments.

I would love to build up a bigger client base and have one more chair in the salon.

The space I work from is big enough that I could grow into having that extra place for another person so ideally this is something I would like to work towards in the next year.

Being able to look at my weekly/monthly income is such a push & incentive for me to do more!

Especially working on my own as it’s like having targets for myself! 

Keeping track of my business expenses and logging my receipts is so easy using Pocket PA wherever I am and taking card payments when I am busy is simple and fast as it gets tracked straight to my income dial without needing a card reader.

If clients forget to pay I can send a one-click invoice and I usually wake up the next day and the money has been paid.
